  • OFFICE MANAGER/DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT [Job Posting Date:  June 2, 2008]

NEDAP seeks an office manager/development assistant to run our dynamic office and provide general administrative and fundraising support. The ideal candidate will be extremely professional, detail oriented, energetic, and reliable.  Office management responsibilities include database management, accounts receivable and payable, IT coordination, and answering phones.  Fundraising responsibilities include grants tracking and reporting, and basic grant-writing. 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to social and economic justice
  • 1-3 years’ office management or equivalent experience
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills
  • Fundraising experience, or strong interest in learning about fundraising

Knowledge of QuickBooks a plus

Internships at NEDAP 

NEDAP runs a comprehensive internship program for undergraduates, graduate, and law students. Past NEDAP interns have prepared GIS maps of financial services patterns in NYC neighborhoods; drafted comment letters to banking regulators; participated in community and coalition meetings; reached out to grassroots groups; conducted surveys of area merchants, banks and check cashers; and much more.

Law Intern Positions

NEDAP's Consumer Law Project seeks law interns to help staff the NYC Financial Justice Hotline, which provides legal advice, information, and referrals to low income people in the areas of credit, debt, and lending discrimination.  Working closely with our staff attorney, the law interns will have the opportunity to conduct intake, research legal issues as necessary, and dispense advice to our callers.  The law interns will draft self-help materials and pro se pleadings for clients as needed.  If interested, interns may also get involved with our NYC Consumer Law Clinic or engage in discrete legal research and writing projects.

NEDAP accepts intern applications for the school year, and for the summer.
