NEDAP's hotline provides free information, legal advice and referrals to community groups and lower income NYC residents.
The hotline advises callers about their rights in the following areas:
- Credit reports
- Discriminatory lending practices
- Trade school scams
- Prepaid debit cards
- Payday loans, check cashers, pawn shops
- "Debt relief" and "credit repair" scams
- Sending money home (remittances)
- Abusive debt collection
