NEDAP Alerts Community Groups to Possible Water Shut-Offs
In January, NEDAP issued a Community Alert on the NYC Department of Environmental Protection's plan to shut off water service for nearly 6,000 single-family homes that are delinquent on their water bills. DEP is offering homeowners a payment plan that will bring them back into good standing and prevent service shut-offs -- but they must enroll by February 21, 2008. To date, few homeowners have taken advantage of this offer, and community groups are urged to spread the word! Contact NEDAP for more information or to get involved.

NEDAP recently launched its own channel on YouTube to stream our monthly TV show, On the Money, as well as other video-advocacy clips. Currently airing is the story of a homeowner facing foreclosure in Queens, and a piece on the impact of frozen bank accounts on low-income New Yorkers.
You can also watch On the Money on public access TV stations in all five boroughs and throughout Westchester County. Check out recent episodes and air dates.
NEDAP & LESPFCU Make It Official!
The Lower East Side People's Federal Credit Union recently designated NEDAP as a "Select Employee Group." The designation formalizes our partnership with LESPFCU and allows us to offer credit union membership to NEDAP staff and volunteers, and their family members. NEDAP, a long-time member and ally of LESPFCU, works with many of New York City's community development credit unions, supporting their unique mission as not-for-profit financial cooperatives.
