Promoting Financial Justice for Immigrant New Yorkers - February 8, 2006

On February 8, 2006 NEDAP & the NYC Immigrant Financial Justice Network presented Promoting Financial Justice for Immigrant New Yorkers, a forum addressing financial justice barriers faced by immigrants and highlighting creative strategies by NYC groups to combat abusive practices and press for accountability by banks, money transmitters and other institutions.

More than 100 people participated, representing a diverse cross-section of community and immigrants' rights groups, advocates, funders, community development financial institutions, academics and media from throughout New York City.

NEDAP has prepared a forum report (pdf) summarizing the presentations and findings from the day.

For more information about the forum and upcoming events, contact NEDAP: (212) 680-5100, x209.
