Community Workshops & Capacity-Building Training

NEDAP trains staff of Chhaya CDC, Adhikaar, MinKwon Center, New Immigrant Community Empowerment, and Queens Community House on immigrant financial justice issues.

NEDAP provides know-your-rights workshops and capacity-building training for NYC groups, on a wide range of financial justice issues and strategies. 

Sessions are designed to be interactive, focusing on NYC neighborhoods and strategies to press for change. 

NEDAP can train your organization's members and staff on topics such as:

NEDAP has also developed two comprehensive courses:

  • NEDAP's Community Financial Literacy & Justice Curriculum provides hands-on tools to help people assert their rights with respect to: Banking, Credit, Credit Reports, Budgeting, Building Assets, and Avoiding Scams.  The course is geared to low and moderate income New Yorkers, with sections tailored to address specific concerns of immigrants, seniors, women, ex-offenders, domestic violence survivors and others.
  • Homeownership: Your Rights, Risks and Rewards includes sections on Deciding if Homeownership is Right for You; Navigating the Mortgage Process; and Avoiding Predatory Lending and Protecting Your Asset.
